Volume Lash Extensions

Fluffy, Full & Feather Light Lashes

Volume Eyelash Extensions

Volume is the set most people picture when they picture lash extensions. Full, fluffy, slightly doe-eyed, dark enough that you can skip eyeliner. What’s counter-intuitive is how they’re built: each fan is made from two to six lashes so fine (usually 0.05 to 0.07mm) that a whole fan weighs about the same as a single classic extension. More lashes, comparable weight, that’s why volume works on natural lashes that would look thin under classic.

The fans are handmade in the moment. Your artist picks up a stack of ultra-fine lashes with tweezers, opens them into a symmetrical fan a few millimeters wide, dips the base in adhesive, and places the whole fan on a single natural lash. Every lash gets its own fan. Every fan gets isolated from its neighbors so nothing bonds together and nothing pulls on your natural growth cycle. That’s the technique the whole studio group is named for.

If you’re weighing volume against the other options: classic is what you book if you want it to look like your own lashes on a good day. Hybrid  is halfway between classic and volume. Mega is denser and darker than volume by a real margin and most clients who think they want mega actually want volume.

What You Need To Know About Volume Extensions

When getting volume extensions at one of our salons, plan for about two and a half hours in the chair for a full set, and roughly an hour for a fill. It takes longer than classic because your artist is making dozens of fans by hand rather than pulling pre-made single lashes. Nothing about it hurts. You lie back, your eyes stay closed, and most people nap, the appointment is longer, but the experience is the same.

The consultation up front matters more with volume than with any other set. Every Bonded volume set is built with 10D fans, so the design decisions are length, curl, and how your artist maps them across your lash line — three variables, and a huge visual difference between the extremes. Tell your artist whether you want soft and everyday or full and dramatic, and they’ll shape the same fans into completely different results.

Retention on volume tracks with classic, three to four weeks with basic care because fan weight and single-lash weight are close enough that your natural lashes shed on their normal cycle. Fills fit best at the two to three week mark. Aftercare is the usual list: nothing wet for the first day, oil-free cleanser and remover from then on, a spoolie run through them in the morning, and a satin pillowcase if you’d rather not book fills faster than that.

Choosing The Right Style For Volume Eyelashes

Finding Your Look

Every Bonded volume set is built with the same 10D fans, where the variety comes from how your artist maps length and curl across your lash line. Same fans, completely different results. Here are the four looks volume clients ask for most, so you can walk in knowing what to say.
Shorter lengths in a gentle C curl, following your natural lash line. All the fullness of 10D without the drama, dark, dense, but shaped like your lashes on their very best day. The right starting point if this is your first volume set.
Length peaks at the center of your lash line and tapers toward both corners. Opens the eye and reads bright and awake, making it especially flattering on hooded or smaller eyes. This is the "why do you look so rested" set.
Length builds toward the outer corners with a stronger curl through the tail. Elongates the eye and adds lift, like a liner wing without the liner. Best on almond and upturned eyes; your artist will tell you honestly if your eye shape would rather have doe-eye.
Fans arranged with deliberate spikes of longer lengths spaced across the lash line, for that piecey, strip-lash-but-real finish. The look most of our Instagram saves point to. Ask for wispy by name and bring the reference photo.
