Everything’s done with hard wax rather than soft strip wax. The difference is real: hard wax grips the hair, not the skin, so it hurts less on sensitive areas (bikini, underarms, face) and leaves less redness afterward. It’s also what makes waxing viable for people who’ve tried it once, hated it, and never went back, usually because they were waxed with soft wax in an area that needed hard.

What to Expect at Your Waxing Appointment
If you schedule a body wax, your first appointment takes a few minutes longer than the return visits, because your esthetician asks about skin sensitivity, medications that thin skin (retinoids especially), whether you’ve waxed before, and what you’re using for skincare. If you’re on Accutane or a prescription retinoid, we won’t wax you as the skin is too fragile and can lift. Bring the medication name to your consultation if you’re not sure.
Hair needs to be at least a quarter inch long, the length of a grain of rice. Shorter than that, the wax won’t grab it. If you’ve been shaving and you’re switching to waxing, wait at least two weeks between your last shave and your first wax.
The wax itself is warm, not hot, and your esthetician tests it on their wrist before touching your skin. Hard wax pulls come as a single strip peeled in the opposite direction of hair growth, quick, targeted, done in one motion. You’ll feel it. It doesn’t linger. Most areas are finished before your body has time to process that anything happened.
Aftercare is straightforward: no hot showers, saunas, sun, or heavy sweat for 24 hours. No exfoliants, retinoids, or scented products on the waxed area for 48 hours. Start exfoliating gently at day three to prevent ingrown hairs, and rebook at the four-to-six-week mark before regrowth turns coarse again.

Where to Book Body Waxing
Body waxing is available at two Bonded Lash Bar studios in North Jersey, including Nutley, and Secaucus. Both studios keep the full menu above and can bundle multiple areas into one visit. Add a lash appointment on the same day if you’re already there for a fill, the estheticians and lash artists share the studio, not the schedule, so overlapping bookings work.

How often should I wax?
Waxing isn’t one experience for everyone. The right cadence and area combination depends on how coarse your hair is, how sensitive your skin is, and how often you actually want to think about it. Here are the four booking patterns clients settle into most.
Bikini or Brazilian every four to six weeks, no exceptions, usually booked on the same day each month. Best for anyone who wants it done and off their mental list, book recurring, and your appointment is on the calendar before regrowth is.
Legs, underarms, bikini all in one appointment about a week before travel. Not the most comfortable session so plan on 45 minutes and a large glass of water afterward, but it's an efficient way to be swim-suit ready without booking three separate visits.
Full legs and underarms May through September; underarms only in winter. Common and completely valid, legs regrow slower in cool weather anyway. Just don't wait so long between summers that you're starting from stubble; book the first spring appointment when hair is quarter-inch long.
Small areas every few weeks (underarms, upper lip, sometimes bikini edge). Fast in and out. If you're already coming for lashes, add one of these to your existing visit, you're in the building anyway!
